Offered is a rare first edition of the memoir by Willard W Glazier, a Union Cavalry officer from New York state. The full title is "The Capture, The Prison Pen And The Escape: Giving A Complete History of Prison Life in the South. This is an account of his own and other Union Officers experiences in various Confederate prisons. There have been other editions dated from the 1880s and later but this is the earliest. There are also some excellent images. This could be a valuable centerpiece of any Civil War collection. The book is in poor complete condition . It would need and deserves a complete restoration. It came out of a New York City estate. Shipping is No charge anywhere in the continental US. Hawaii and Alaska and non US destinations are quoted at close or upon prior request.
